Our journey to becoming carbon zero
Nottingham has serious sustainability ambitions for the city and as a college we share these ambitions. As a large employer, occupying a sizeable estate, we must set an example for responsible environmental management and we have a duty to raise environmental awareness among our staff and learners.
Our journey to zero
Since our baseline year 2019/20 we have reduced our carbon emissions by 33%, some 1100 tonnes!
New and upcoming projects
- Launching a new Green Skills Centre for Nottingham thanks to the LSIF (Local Skills Investment Fund) through which we will share a grant of some £6.6 million to invest in green skills delivery.
- Delivering £3 million of improvements to our Adams and Highfields campuses as part of our ongoing estates decarbonisation programme.
- Open two, new ultra low carbon buildings at our Basford campus to house a new construction skills centre and a new centre for students with learning disabilities and/or difficulties.
