4 students celebrating their results

We’ve had an amazing morning catching up with students, celebrating their results and finding out what they’ll be doing next year!

We’re delighted to see our learners progress onto their next steps which include university destinations such as Sheffield Hallam, Hull York Medical School, University of Northampton, University of Nottingham, Leeds University and many more.

We spoke with Adam Beazeley, Assistant Principal at High Pavement Sixth Form. He was around to celebrate with and support students this morning, along with other tutors and members of staff. He said:

Today is about recognising the efforts of our students and staff, who have worked so hard over the past couple of years. I am so pleased to have seen many of our students securing places at their chosen universities, which is testament to their perseverance and dedication.

This year, we’ve also seen an increase in students progressing to higher apprenticeships, securing placements with the likes of Global Law Firm DLA Piper and Deloitte UK

We wish all of our students the very best for their futures, whether that’s a higher-level course at college or university, an apprenticeship, or employment.

Congratulating one another were classmates Iyayi and Melody who both received the grades they needed to take their next steps.

Iyayi, 18, is progressing to the University of Birmingham to study Nursing. She said:

I’ve always wanted to go down the medical route. I want to help people, especially when they need it most. These grades mean I can go on to university and it takes me one step closer to a career in nursing.

Melody has her sights set on an engineering career. She achieved A, B, C in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry. She will return to High Pavement Sixth Form in September to complete a fourth A Level in Mathematics.

Milad Fadakar-Bany is going on to study Mechanical Engineering in Bristol. He got an A* in Further maths and maths and achieved an A grade in Computer Science.

The support was great, the staff made me feel so comfortable and created an environment that was conducive to studying.

One of my favourite facilities and some of my best memories have taken place in the library, from dance performances during culture day to getting most of my studying done there!

Milad’s mum joined him to collect his results this morning and spoke to us about how proud she was of Milad and how grateful she was to the staff and tutors at High Pavement Sixth Form.

Whatever your results, we're here to help!

Although A Level Results day is a time to celebrate and be proud of yourselves no matter what you achieve, we understand that it can be a stressful time for some, especially if your results weren’t quite as you expected.

It’s important to speak to your friends, family and our staff if you have any worries. We offer lots of different kinds of advice and support, so it is important not to panic. You could even join Nottingham College through clearing!

Join us this September!

There is still time to join us this September! Whether you’re looking for a university level course through Clearing or want to join us as a school leaver, it’s not too late!
