Qualification

NCFE Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

Level Level 4
Entry requirements

You must be aged 19+, achieved Maths and English at Level 2 and have a relevant level 3 qualification in the subject you wish to teach. A DBS check and at least 30 hours of teaching in a post 14 environment.

We consider every application on an individual basis and would be happy to have an informal discussion should you wish to talk about your current qualifications and experience.

Teaching & assessment

You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates your knowledge, understanding and practical ability to plan, deliver and reflect on your teaching and learning practice.

In addition to your portfolio work you will also be observed delivering lessons on at least 3 occasions by a tutor from the teacher training team. These observations are supportive and provide trainees with an opportunity to experiment with new strategies and then engage in a developmental conversation afterwards to support continued improvement in practice. Some units may be delivered remotely, via MS Teams.

Progression

You may progress onto the Level 5 Cert Ed or a Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship.
