Introduction to Sport and the Public Services (Entry 3) — Full-time

Course outline

If you have achieved grade 1 and below in your GCSEs and enjoy sport or exercise and would like to build knowledge about working in the sports, fitness and leisure industry or the Uniformed Public Services (Police, Army, Fire or Ambulance Service) then this course could be perfect for you.

You will learn about a range of different sports and the Public Service and be helped along a journey towards higher Level courses in these subjects and about the many career In addition, you will study English and maths at an appropriate level. There will also be an emphasis on developing confidence and resilience and to enhance personal, social, and employability skills.

You will learn:

  • Health and nutrition
  • A variety of physical sport
  • Teamwork
  • Serving and protecting the public
  • Maths and English Functional Skills
  • Personal and social development
  • Study skills

You can expect practical lessons at our Basford campus and a range of external sport facilities in Nottingham. We have excellent links with local sports facilities and local professional sports teams to maximise your study opportunities. You will get to enjoy learning and playing sport in a fun and friendly environment with experienced coaches and tutors.
