Stepping into Hair and Beauty (Entry Level) — Full-time

Course outline

During this course you’ll learning different hair and beauty services as well as spending some time developing your personal and social skills.

You’ll also develop your skills for studying and learning whilst finding out more about different career options available to you.

You’ll take part in projects that will help you grow your confidence and alongside this you will continue with your Maths and English, both important elements of your college experience.​

You will learn:

  • Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
  • Professional image
  • Shampoo and conditioning the hair
  • Plaiting and twisting
  • Create an image
  • Skincare
  • Hand care
  • Basic make-up

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but an interest in hair and beauty is essential.

Teaching & assessment

Assessment is continual through coursework folders and Functional Skills assessments.

Progression

Once you have successfully completed a Foundation Learning programme with us, we will encourage you to progress onto a full-time level 1 college course, helping you to further develop your vocational and work ready skills for the future!
