Course Introduction
This course is perfect if you already have some welding experience and would like to take it further.
Maybe you have a MIG or Stick welder at home and have had some fun using it, you’ve had some welding experience on MIG or Stick and have always wanted to have a go at TIG.
Many people who have some welding exposure have seen the colourful rainbow of a TIG weld and been enticed. The neat ripples often lure people into what is considered by many the pinnacle of the welding methods and this course will use those key skills found on other welding methods and help you apply them to TIG. The course will allow you to understand the key differences and applications of the welding methods and how to use them safely in different environments.
We will guide you through TIG welding skills and machine use. Provide skills to help you identify and critique weld defects and how to overcome them. Provide knowledge on TIG specific considerations for weld preparation and set up.
There will also be some metal finishing skills taught on this course to allow you to complete the final assessed piece. This also serves as a piece to take away at the end of the course as a memento of your achievement.

City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Welding Skills (TIG)
You must be aged 19+ and have proven MIG experience
- Assessed finished work piece
- Tested weld
- Short quiz
You must provide your own PPE including steel toe capped boots.
