FACE Recording & Measurement Systems Ltd is a Nottingham based company specialising in the development of assessment tools and software for the health and social care sector. We worked with FACE to develop its Apprenticeship programme.

Conkers, the activity centre based in Derbyshire, has been working alongside Nottingham College to deliver various training to their employees.

Jasmin Barlow-Wilkinson, owner of Nottingham city centre-based café Homemade, has been working with Nottingham College to gain support in developing her staff and helping them to build their skills within the hospitality sector.
She said:
“My staff have enjoyed having the opportunity to learn new skills, build upon their existing skills and gain a formal qualification. The College has supported us with NVQ Level 2 training in food processing and professional cookery and it has given staff a real focus in their work. Head Chef at Woodborough Hall, Des Sweeney, has been working with the College for a number of years, supporting his staff to achieve a range of professional qualifications and certificates.

The School of Science and Technology is an exciting multidisciplinary environment for learning, teaching and research. Specialising in Biosciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Forensic Science, Mathematics, Physics, Sports Science and Computing and Technology.

Keepmoat are a firm supporter of apprenticeship schemes for the construction industry, as training the next wave of housing and construction industry professionals is vital in addressing the skills gap in the sector.

"Here at TMS Hinkley, we have used the Kia apprenticeship scheme for several years. Our first apprentice has almost completed his programme with great results and he has become a very important asset to our team. In today's environment, it is difficult to find good technicians so it is important to us as a business to 'grow our own'. We now have a our second apprentice on the programme who is also progressing well. We believe the reason for our two apprentices' success is due to the very high standards of training and discipline installed into them at the Kia Academy. The support from the academy for us as a dealer is very important enabling us to support the apprentices in achieving their goal of becoming a qualified Kia Technician. I would like to thank Mark Daley and the other trainers at the academy for all their help and support over the years and look forward to our future relationship."

Nottingham College is a member of the British Gypsum Thistle Partnership, one of 60 colleges nationally. As the UK’s leading plaster manufacturer, British Gypsum works with colleges to understand training needs, along with CPD sessions required to keep staff up-to-date with modern building practices used in industry.

Our apprentice has got through the program well. He’s coming towards the end of it now and he finishes in May. He’s been motivated to stick with it. He’s done his extra 20% without being really pushed by us and he’s gotten on with it. It’s been a pleasant experience.
