Nottingham College is hosting its next series of Open Evenings across five of our campuses in October 2024, November 2024 and January 2025.
Frequently asked questions about Open Evening events
Our Open Evenings are a chance for you to see our facilities and meet our expert tutors who will provide you with much more information about the course/courses you are interested in – it is your chance to ask questions and get a feel of what college is like. Our student support areas will be available during the evening if you would like information on student finance, careers, student enrichment and additional learning support. If you’d like some advice on how to apply, advisers will be on hand in our Application Zones to answer your questions and talk you through the process.
The event time for all Open Evenings is 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm When booking through our website you will be able to choose from 3 timeslots. The timeslots are: 5:00 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm. We have timeslots to help manage numbers and queues throughout the event. We encourage you to try and arrive no later than 6:00 pm to ensure you have enough time to explore our campuses and get all the information you need.
Booking is essential as we need to know how many people will be there on the evening so that we can plan and manage numbers accordingly.
For students looking to study a Motor Vehicle course in 2025/26 (September 2025) our Motor Vehicle courses currently based at London Road will be moving to our Highfields campus. If you are interested in Motor Vehicle, please book onto the Highfields Open Evening where our Motor Vehicle team will be there to talk about the facilities and plans for Motor Vehicle moving to Highfields later next year.
Our booking process accommodates the following ticket types when you book.
- Student/Learner - A person(s) interested in college.
- Parent/Guardian - A parent or guardian attending with the person(s) interested in college.
- Other visitor/guest - Anyone else accompanying but not a student/parent or guardian.
You can book multiple tickets under a single order.
Minimum personal information is collected for other visitor/guests tickets, for these tickets only name details are captured for capacity purposes.
Yes! You are welcome to attend multiple events to see multiple different course areas across our different campuses, but you will need to book for each of the different campus events individually. The weekday of each of our Open Evening events is different for October 2024, November 2024 and January 2025 to make it more accessible if you want to visit multiple campuses but maybe can't make it on a certain weekday.
Due to the popularity and interest for our Open Evenings, we set maximum capacity limits per timeslot to allow everyone to experience everything at an Open Evening and safely accommodate all guests while on campus. Where an event slot says sold out, this means it has reached the maximum capacity set. Nearer the time it is possible for some cancellations to occur meaning tickets will become available again and will be able to be registered for on a first come first served basis.
Alternatively you can register to an alternative date if all timeslots are full.
Each of our campuses have different courses areas, when booking a student/learner ticket you will be asked what subject area you are interested in, if you do not see the course area you are interested in then please contact us directly and we will advise which event will be best for you to attend – events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk.
Travel information can be found for each campus on our locations page. Each event will link to the location page it is being hosted at.
Car parking will be free on a first come, first served based for our campuses with car parking facilities, which are:
For campuses which have parking on site, the pay and display rules only apply during the daytime. After 4:00 pm there is no charge for parking.
For other locations that do not have on-site parking, there are public car parks available nearby in the surrounding area. Alternatively, many of our campuses are served by public transport services from Nottingham City Transport, Trentbarton and NET (Tram).
Tickets for our Open Evening events are through Ticket Tailor. You can cancel your booking by following the self-serve guidance. Alternatively you can contact events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk who can cancel any bookings on your behalf. Make sure to provide the full name and email address information of the original booking.
Please direct any unanswered questions and queries to events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk.
Supported Open Evenings
Do you want to attend an Open Evening but struggle with crowds or a big event isn’t suitable? We are running quieter slots at each of our Open Evenings from 4:15pm — 5:00 pm for prospective learners who have additional support needs and may find a busy environment difficult.
These slots are limited and are an opportunity for parents, carers and prospective learners to meet our support team directly, discuss the support we can offer and how we work with young people to develop independence for adulthood.
Please get in touch with our inclusion and support team who can discuss your requirements with you and provide the booking link for these quieter sessions.
