How to download Microsoft Teams on your phone
Students should use Microsoft Teams whilst on the course. Microsoft Teams is a free, safe online app used by Nottingham College for tutors to contact students. Using Teams will also enable students to develop, and feel confident, using digital skills.
To download the Microsoft Teams app onto your phone, follow the instructions below:
If you are using an Apple phone, go to the App Store, then search and download the Microsoft Teams app.
If you are using an Android phone, go to Google Play, then searchand install the Microsoft Teams app.
How to use Teams
Once Teams has downloaded, you will need to sign in:
To sign in your username will be your college email address, for example: studentnumber@student.nottinghamcollege.ac.uk
The password will be your date of birth for example: 010180
Your teacher will add you to your online class and your classes will show in the Feed section of Microsoft Teams:
Click on ‘Activity’ at the bottom of the screen, when added by your teacher.
You can talk to your teacher and other students in your class about work by going to the chat button at the bottom of the screen and searching for their name, then creating a message:

What we are doing in college:
Promoting equality and diversity and encouraging positive relationships between students
Referring any concerns via our safeguarding team to the relevant support agencies, including Channel
Educating our students about the dangers of radicalisation and extremism, and promoting shared British Values
Vetting external speakers and removing any posters or other materials of an extremist nature
E-safety - using firewalls, filters and monitoring software to ensure appropriate use of IT
News monitoring for any concerns nationally or locally
Training all staff to raise their awareness around the signs that someone may be vulnerable to radicalisation
