We encourage our students to dive in and take an active role in shaping their student experience.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in student life outside of the classroom, with all sorts of hands-on experiences to explore.

The HE Student Union is run by students for students, aspiring to ensure that all members get the most from their total student experience.

The Students’ Union offers you the chance to take part in numerous events and activities throughout the year.

If there is an activity you are particularly interested in, they can also set up a club or society, so you can take part on a regular basis.

The SU seek to:

  • Provide advice and representation for all students through Learner Voice and student lead campaigns
  • Co-ordinate a range of vibrant enriching and entertaining social activities
  • Provide opportunities for personal growth and development

Through these goals, Nottingham College Students’ Union will always seek to promote a better quality of student life.

  • Learner voice
    • Nottingham College SU is primarily run to ensure that the voice of learners is heard by senior college staff, your lecturers and the local community. Learner Voice is a key mechanism for gathering feedback from our students, allowing us to continually improve your experience here.

Learner Voice representatives meet on a regular basis to comment on the student experience and make suggestions for improvements. You'll have an opportunity to express your views and have your say.

  • Sport
    • Various sports are on offer and the programme may change each year. Students can take part with class mates and friends from across the College. The activities usually run during lunch and late afternoon on the different College campuses or offsite and are FREE for students.

Throughout the year we will put on cross college competitions. These will be advertised through tutorial for entries to represent your course or curriculum area.

We also have opportunities for students to compete at regional level in the AoC Sport regional competitions and National team trials. For a list of what current sports you can compete in please contact us.

For an up to date timetable of activities check out the Wellbeing Hub, our Wellbeing Team Social media pages or the poster boards around your campus.

  • Volunteering
    • Volunteering is a great way to boost your CV, meet new people and feel great about helping others. You can get involved in many community opportunities.
